Nimba: The Powerful Ayurvedic Detox Herb

Nimba, commonly known as Neem, is a widely used Ayurvedic herb that is frequently recommended by Dr. Varun Ram Raj, one of the best Ayurvedic doctors. The scientific name of Nimba is Azadirachta indica. It is best known for balancing Pitta and Kapha Doshas and is revered for its powerful detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.

Traditionally, Nimba is used in the management of skin diseases, including acne and eczema, as well as worm infestations, blood purification, and inflammatory conditions. It also supports oral health, controls blood sugar levels, and enhances liver function. Its bitter taste reflects its deep cleansing and heat-reducing qualities.

Nimba is especially effective in cleansing the blood, removing toxins (Ama), and enhancing immune function. It is also helpful in managing fever, wounds, ulcers, and chronic dermatological issues.

Phytochemically, Nimba is rich in nimbin, azadirachtin, nimbidin, flavonoids, quercetin, and various limonoids, which contribute to its antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and immuno-modulatory activities.

According to Dr. Varun Ram Raj, the recommended dosage of Nimba is:

● In Decoction (Kashayam) form: 50–100 ml
● In Powder (Churna) form: 3–6 grams
● In Tablet form: 250–500 mg
● In Juice form (Swarasa): 10–15 ml

Note: Always consult a qualified Ayurvedic doctor before using Nimba for any health condition.
