Acid Reflux
Acid reflux is also known as Amlapitta in Ayurveda. It is a common digestive disorder where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn, sour belching, and discomfort in the chest or throat. It is often associated with poor digestion, irregular food habits, stress, and imbalance in pitta dosha.
According to Ayurvedic expert Dr. Varun Ram Raj, acid reflux can be effectively managed through proper diet, lifestyle changes, and herbal support. Ayurveda focuses on restoring digestive fire (Agni) and balancing Pitta dosha. Herbs like Amla, Yashtimadhu, Shatavari, Haritaki, and Avipattikar Churna are commonly used for symptomatic relief.
Tailored treatment plans may include dietary guidance, routine adjustments, and mild detox therapies, depending on an individual’s unique constitution.
Ayurveda does not offer a one-size-fits-all remedy for acid reflux. All herbal combinations and medications must be taken only under the guidance of a qualified doctor.
